We been in industry for many years and seen China going thru it’s phases. I remember when first lot of part came thru 20 years ago from subcontractor there, we looked at them and thout ” they will never catch up with Western quality”. I seen them using Japanese CNC equipment, German lathes, tooling made from German, USA and Japanese steel (depending on core proper steel supplier was chosen). Quality of the output parts was on the pair with Iphone 4 CNC casing.
And yes, 30% of the output was for the internal market and expending at the faster pase than exports.
